Salesforce and Anthropic announced Claudeforce, read directly here in full, an expanded partnership Salesforce describes as bringing "Claude's intelligence and reasoning together with Salesforce's trusted enterprise harness to make its data, workflows, business logic, actions, and governance securely accessible to power agentic experiences wherever work happens." Marc Benioff, Salesforce's Chair and CEO: "We're bringing together the world's #1 AI and #1 CRM — the best of both worlds. ... Probabilistic intelligence alone doesn't run a company, and deterministic systems don't reason. By fusing Claude's extraordinary reasoning with the trusted data, workflows, and governance every enterprise runs on, we're delivering a dynamic interface that thinks, reasons, and acts." Anthropic co-founder and CEO Dario Amodei: "We believe frontier intelligence should be safe, trusted, and deeply capable, which is why the world's leading businesses turn to Claude for their most important work. Salesforce in Claude brings this same frontier intelligence into the systems where much of the world's commercial activity happens."
Salesforce inside Claude
The partnership launches Salesforce in Claude, a plugin with 37 prebuilt sales skills — built jointly by both companies, Salesforce says specifically to draw on "Claude's reasoning, agentic tool use, and generative UI" rather than "generic CRM prompts wrapped around an API" — covering tasks like meeting preparation, deal-health review, and pipeline review, and letting sellers and agents reason over live revenue context and take governed action directly inside Claude. Onboarding reads a seller's Salesforce, Slack, and connector context to generate a tailored dashboard of accounts and live pipeline data inside Claude. Actions route through Salesforce so business rules are enforced; setup is a single admin connection covering the whole team, with authentication and permissions managed centrally. The plugin runs on AIforce, Salesforce's enterprise harness exposing business data and workflows to any agent through MCP servers, APIs, and CLI tools.
Claude inside Salesforce
Claude is now the reasoning model behind Salesforce's Atlas Reasoning Engine, powers Agentforce Vibes and Agentforce Coworker by default, and is available in Agent Builder — all live today. Through Amazon Bedrock, Claude is also available within the Salesforce Trust Boundary, which Salesforce says lets customers in regulated industries deploy domain-specific AI while keeping data and AI workloads secured within that boundary.
Slack: the third pillar
Claude is now the default model for Slack, described as powering Slackbot by default, augmenting team decisions via Claude Tag, and serving as a founding partner for Slack Code. Salesforce frames this as connecting team dialogue in Slack directly to governed action in Salesforce, without switching tools.
Salesforce and Anthropic are each other's customers, not just partners
The announcement discloses specific internal-adoption numbers rather than only describing the product externally: Claude-powered Slackbot has driven 8.1 million hours of annualized productivity gains for Salesforce employees, described as more than doubling quarter over quarter. Claude is stated as the default model for Slack AI, Slackbot, Salesforce in Claude, Headless 360, Agentforce Coworker, and Claude Code across Salesforce's own engineering organization, and Salesforce says it will make Claude Code and Claude Enterprise available to all of its developers and knowledge workers as its preferred AI assistant. Salesforce also states Claude is "the first LLM provider fully integrated within the Salesforce Trust Boundary." In the other direction, Salesforce is described as Anthropic's preferred CRM, and Slack as Anthropic's preferred internal multiplayer work platform.
Salesforce in Claude is currently with select pilot customers, with an open beta targeted for September 2026; additional prebuilt skills are stated to begin launching in late 2026.
What it costs isn't disclosed yet. The official announcement ends with the standard disclaimer that "pricing and packaging are subject to change," and no dollar figure for Salesforce in Claude has been published anywhere in the primary sources for this post. Worth watching for pricing once the open beta or general availability lands, and worth being skeptical of third-party "per-query cost" estimates already circulating online for this specific integration — none traced back to a primary source as of this writing.
Amodei addressed "SaaSpocalypse" directly, on CNBC, the same day
Benioff and Anthropic co-founder and CEO Dario Amodei jointly appeared on CNBC's "Closing Bell: Overtime" with Jim Cramer on August 26, the day of the announcement. Per the CNBC transcript and coverage of it, Cramer asked Amodei directly whether Anthropic was going to "put Salesforce out of business" — the "SaaSpocalypse" thesis, the idea that AI agents could make traditional SaaS interfaces obsolete. Amodei's on-record answer: "We're not interested in destroying anyone. It's not about destroying anyone, it's about how much of these gains go to various people and companies, and our philosophy has always been that we want to work with our customers." Benioff, separately, called the SaaSpocalypse narrative "such nonsense" in the same interview.
The announcement landed on Salesforce's earnings day
Claudeforce was announced alongside Salesforce's Q2 FY27 earnings, read directly here. Revenue reached $11.3 billion, up 11% year over year (including a $456 million contribution from the recently acquired Informatica), with non-GAAP diluted EPS of $5.90 (up 103% year over year) and GAAP diluted EPS of $4.29 (up 119%). Current remaining performance obligation — a forward booked-revenue indicator — reached $33.5 billion, up 14% year over year, an acceleration from prior quarters. Salesforce raised its full-year FY27 revenue guidance by $200 million ($300 million in constant currency) to $46.1–46.4 billion.
The AI-specific numbers in the release are the ones most relevant to Claudeforce: Agentforce ARR exceeded $1.5 billion, up over 240% year over year; combined Agentforce and Data 360 ARR reached nearly $3.9 billion, up over 210%; and Salesforce reports 7.0 billion cumulative "Agentic Work Units" delivered across Agentforce and Slack, with 3.2 billion of those in Q2 alone — a 97% quarter-over-quarter increase. Benioff's quote in the earnings release ties this directly to AIforce: "with AIforce, our trusted enterprise harness, we're unlocking the data, workflows, business logic, actions, and governance inside Salesforce and making it available to every agent, model, and interface." Salesforce stock jumped 22% the next trading day — per CNBC, its second-best single-day performance on record — with software peers ServiceNow (+10%) and Workday (+1.5%) also rising the same day. Because the earnings beat and the Claudeforce announcement landed together, it isn't possible to separate how much of that stock move responds to one versus the other.
The Matthew McConaughey video
Benioff posted a video on X alongside this announcement featuring Matthew McConaughey, who has been the face of Salesforce's Agentforce advertising campaigns since 2022, including prior Super Bowl spots. This environment could not independently view or verify the specific content of that video (X/Twitter video content is not accessible here) — noted as a real, dated post from Benioff's own account, timed to the Claudeforce announcement.
